Self Catered Cottage - Sleeps 10 - The Farmhouse

Higher Mullacott is a large, beautiful 5 bedroom Farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. It has been tastefully renovated for stylish, comfortable, country living with large, bright and tastefully furnished rooms.

Enter from the pretty courtyard into the porch with original flagstone flooring and slate seating and step into a large, open plan kitchen/day room which is a wonderful place for large family gatherings embracing modern day living whilst retaining original features.

Day Room

The kitchen is fully fitted with plenty of storage and slate worktops. The chefs in the family can choose from cooking on either the range cooker or the electric built in oven. A separate electric hob is also situated on the large kitchen island and meals can be rustled up whilst other family members are relaxing on the sofa or seated around the large pine farmhouse table. The day room also has a flat screen television and a painted pine country dresser.

Self Catered Kitchen

Three steps up from the kitchen is the utility area with washing machine, butler sink and separate toilet (with Victorian-style pull chain cistern), along with more storage and slate worktops. A further door leads to the picturesque 3 ½ acres of communal grounds/landscaped gardens with football field, swings and play area.

Leading from the day room is a spacious, carpeted lounge - ideal for relaxing with ample comfortable seating, cushions and lamps and a large flat screen TV. This room is full of character with stone walls, thick oak beams and a large inglenook fireplace.

Off the lounge, one step down leads to a carpeted double bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and window looking out to the garden area. The en-suite shower and toilet is tiled with travertine tiles.

Stairs from the lounge lead up to four more large, carpeted bedrooms, all situated along a bright hallway with two windows overlooking the courtyard.

The huge master bedroom is bright and airy with a vaulted ceiling and wooden beams Its dual aspect affords wonderful views of the gardens and courtyard on either side of the room. The window seat overlooking the courtyard is a wonderful place for relaxing with your favourite book! The room also has an en-suite shower and toilet with travertine tiling.

The next bedroom along the hallway is another large, bright and sunny twin bedded room with glorious views of the gardens and rolling countryside beyond from the pretty window seat. This bedroom also has a large built-in flat screen TV.

Situated at the other end of the hallway are the fourth and fifth bedrooms along with a large family bathroom and separate toilet. One of the bedrooms is a twin bedded room with a large window overlooking the courtyard area and the other is a double bedroom with a large vaulted ceiling along with beams. This room also has a beautiful view from the large window overlooking the gardens.

Bedroom 5: Double

The large family bathroom has a key-hole shaped bath with curved glass screen and electric shower over. The room is tiled with travertine tiles and has a large window seat overlooking the garden area. A separate toilet is situated next to this bathroom.

Outside the Farmhouse, guests can relax and dine in their own private courtyard area equipped with a gas BBQ and picnic tables. The large communal garden area includes a play area, mini football pitch, table tennis and volleyball net.

The Farmhouse can be rented during the 2013 school summer holidays from 19th July 2013 – 29th August 2013.
