The beautiful Dolly's Barn is a lovely large, six bedroom barn conversion sleeping 11. The self-catered cottage near Ilfracombe in North Devon has been tastefully renovated featuring wonderful period qualities and plenty of personal touches to help ensure guests enjoy a happy and memorable holiday. Finished to a high standard, Dolly's is a gorgeous family and group friendly holiday home with bright rooms and comfortable furniture.
On arrival guests are met by a pretty hallway with wide open stairs heading up to the first floor and a fully glazed door leading to the large open plan spacious living room with lounge, dining area and kitchen. The dual aspect room has patio doors overlooking the picturesque courtyard, as well as floor to ceiling windows where the original barn entrance once stood.
The comfy lounge with its beautiful oak flooring is designed for large group gatherings with three large sofas and an armchair situated around an LPG wood burner, soft rug and coffee table. This relaxed area is the perfect place to sit back and relax whilst enjoying a night in with family and friends. A large flat screen, wall mounted TV with separate DVD/CD player is also provided along with a good range of board games.
A huge wooden dining table is located alongside a well-equipped kitchen in a beautifully light and airy section of the living room. The dining table comfortably seats 10 plus and is great for all occasions, including celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.
Situated along one side of the living room, the fully fitted kitchen has all the necessary appliances for rustling up meals, including a large range electric oven with five gas hobs, a microwave, a Bosch dishwasher and two fridges. A washing machine and freezer are also installed.
A door off the kitchen leads to the handy ground floor double bedroom with courtyard window, painted antique pine bedside cabinets and matching double wardrobe with drawers. Conveniently located downstairs this useful bedroom is great for grandparents or other guests a little unsure of the stairs.
The ground floor bedroom also benefits from its own en-suite shower room.
The wide stairs from the entrance hall lead up to the first floor hallway, which has sloping ceilings, wood beams and traditional floorboards running throughout that once resided in Ilfracombe Town's former theatre.
The first room off the hallway is a spacious double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Overlooking the courtyard this pretty bedroom is elegantly furnished with matching painted antique pine double wardrobe and chest of drawers. A cot is also located in this room. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, a wash basin and a toilet.
Further along the first floor hallway is a pretty twin with two full size single beds and a double antique pine wardrobe. The bedroom with sloped ceilings is tastefully decorated and features sloped ceilings.
The next bedroom is a lovely single with Victorian style day bed. This room with sloped ceiling and wood beams also features a stylish dresser with chest of drawers.
Opposite the single bedroom is the second twin bedroom, which has two full size single beds and a double wardrobe. This cosy twin room has a host of period features including sloped ceilings and wood beams.
The two twin bedrooms and the single bedroom share the fully fitted first floor family bathroom, which has a bath with overhead electric shower, a wash basin and a loo.
Once a hayloft, the last bedroom situated at the end of the hallway is now an elegant Master Bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite shower room. The room also contains a painted antique pine double wardrobe and matching bedside cabinets. The bedroom's large window overlooks the gardens to the rear of the property and has some wonderful views of the North Devon countryside. A flat screen TV is also located in this room.
When staying at Dolly's Barn guests can enjoy alfresco dining in the historic central courtyard where there is the cottage's private dining area complete with picnic tables and a built in barbeque. There are also 3.5 acres of communal gardens to explore featuring a children's play area and table tennis.
On arrival you'll find a welcome pack consisting of Devon Cream Tea (for week long bookings), tea, coffee, sugar, milk and other household essentials, including tea towels, oven gloves, bin liners, liquid soaps, toilet rolls and cleaning materials for kitchen and bathrooms.
A special Festive Pack is offered for Christmas and New Year breaks with wine, chocolates or biscuits, and Christmas crackers supplied in addition to the standard welcome pack. Not to mention a real pine tree with decorations. The Festive Pack is offered to guests staying for a minimum of five nights over either Christmas or New Year.
